  • Hi Gregg, Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time at your lodge! We appreciate all you did for us to make our stay truly the best Adirondack experience we have ever had! The Nords

  • Dear Gregg, We Just wanted you to know that the week we spent at your cabin was probably the most memorable time we have ever spent in the Adirondacks! Bill & Sandy

  • Gregg, Absolutely could not have asked for more. I'm sure this was just the first of many memorable Memorial Day weekends at Sperry Pond. We had a wonderful time, in an incredible location, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you for sharing it with us. Julie, Danielle & Nicholas

  • "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And God said, let there be light...and there was Sperry Pond...and cold Beer...and it was good." Hey guys, most excellent time with family and friends and hope to be back up soon. Loons, Bears, Mountains, etc. How can you go wrong? Thanks again for sharing a very cool place with us, Gregg and Jules. We'll talk soon. Tim and Mary Beth and Kids

  • This was hands down the best family vacation we've ever had. Your lodge is a wonderful place to "reconnect" with each other while connecting with nature. My wife and I can't remember the last time we felt this relaxed. Thanks for everything. We are already looking forward to our next stay - see you soon. Rob, Betsy and kids.

  • Our stay was entirely too short. We came to relax, sit and watch.... We did just that... the views were breathtaking and the wildlife activity we observed right from the chairs on the front lawn were pure entertainment. We look forward to a longer stay next year. Ralph and Jane

  • Fall in the Adirondacks....WOW!!! The fall foliage colored a tapestry on the mountains across the lake that was incredible. The beauty of the surroundings, the smell of the camp fire, the crunch of the leaves under foot..... all made for a truly a magical weekend. Many Thanks, Kandi & Chris

  • Gregg, We have now tried every season and can't say that we have a favorite. Regardless of the time of year the lodge has something wonderful to offer. The beauty of the place keeps calling us back. See you again very soon. Paul & Karen

  • What a great place! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves hanging around the fire and listening to those crazy ice noises. What a view! We are looking forward to our next visit to Sperry pond. Thanks so much. Pete & Lori.

  • Sperry Pond - How I long to return to the soft beds, the crackling fire and the coyote's song. So much life, so much laughter. Thanks for a wonderful time. - Terry & Wayne

  • (Long read, but worth it!  I like this guy!)

June 25 - Arrived at camp fully stocked with food & beer.  All is well - tomorrow we fish.

June 26 - Off to go fishing.  Notice strange prints in the shoreline mud and red substance near them.  Just catch 1 brookie for dinner.  Drank beer and ate fish.

June 27 - 1:00 AM - Awaken to the sound of claws on the sliding glass doors.  Black bear smelled fish guts, but got scared away.  Possibly same bear got brave.  Saw shadows - could be more of them.

June 28 - Want to leave for supplies but bears encircled the cabin.  The barricade I've made for the door won't hold them back for long.  Still the bears wait.  Food supply low.  Thank God for beer.  May have to use the shotgun, but only brought 1 shell.

June 29 - Haven't slept in days. I'm down to 1 bag of chips and a 12 pack.  PBR is now my only friend.  John LaBatt is my only confidant.  Only he knows my pain.  But soon even he will be gone.  ATTACKED.  Able to fight off leader - the one I named Yogi.  Able to stitch up wounds but used up last beer as pain killer.  Beer gone.  Thank God for the shot gun shell.  Tell my family I love them.

Cabin is great, being here is great.  Nice view of the lake and watching beaver & loons.  Had a great time exploring, hunting and fishing.  Hunted everyday for bear and deer.  Feeding a fox was different.  Almost had him eating from my hand.  Fed the crows and bluejays. Will return many years to come.  Thanks Gregg and Peggy for everything.  Frank and Patti Phelps

And the silence was complete predawn with the moon light showing the outline of trees and as the sun started to awaken, the snow of the trees became apparent.  A black & white photo in real life with a black lab resting his paw on my leg, another resting on my lap, head turned to get that perfect spot behind the ear.  This is peace.  The silence here is deep enough to be able to hear your own soul quietly telling you all you need to learn about yourself.  Thank you Gregg and Peggy.  Deb Infante

Played catch up with red wine (for which I am paying dearly for today).  Some of my favorite highlights:  An early midnight moonlit walk, playing golf, tried boccee (but kept loosing the white balls in the snow), lots of photos, more walks in the snow, a ski in the afternoon, hangover boxing (the hangover won!), falling through the ice, trail blazing to picnic point, testing the ice, seeing the eagle, watching the spills by late night stumble walkers (myself included), great food....: ).  I don't recommend swimming.  It is VERY COLD in January.  Gregg and Peggy, I can't possibly say thanks enough for your hospitality in this beautiful spot.  I have had an incredible time!  If you ever need a hand clearing trails, doing maintenance or lowering the fish population in the lake, I be glad to help!  Thanks so much, Trish Wishwire

January 16th - OK, so now I have been here 24 hours more than planned.  Another beautiful day and I can't begin to say how wonderful this experience has been!

What we did - hiking, showshoeing, XC skiing, star gazing, reading, card playing while mesmerized by the high peaks.  Favorite moments:  A few deer passed through and an eagle graced us with a viewing down by the beaver dam (just incredible), fire pit fire under a beautiful starlit night, walked the perimeter of the pond on the ice on a blue, blue sky day.  So very peaceful seeing our dogs smiling and being in heaven!

Thank you so much Gregg and Peggy!  We needed this get away so much and you gave us a peice of heaven.  We hope to see you again this year.  I'm so sad to leave but so happy to have shared Sperry.  All the best, Heidi

Friday night:  A serene starlit night beckoned us to Picnic Point.  A fire to keep us warm, the dogs all around.  Roscoe found his sentry point on a rock overlooking the pond.  He sat there for a long time taking in all the sounds and smells of the night.  The beautiful eerie symphony of a pack of hunting coyotes broke the silence 3 times.  I wonder what the dogs think when they hear that sound.  I feel so blessed to be able to give myself and my dogs that kind of experience, one that far to few people ever get to experience.  Thank you for a beautiful cabin in the woods .  Thank you for sharing.  Amy, Roscoe & Piasso

What we did - eat, fish, drink, sleep, eat!  We had a fish pool - Ron won $90.00 for his prize 15 1/2 inch trout.  Favorite moments - Facial night (the girls), just all the peace and quiet and tranquility, riding the 4 wheeler, snoozing on the rock pt, reeling in a big beautiful trout!, hearing the bullfrogs and loons.

Celebrated Father's Day - John Marekn slept here, age 92.  God bless you!

The cabin and setting are "sweet" - heaven on earth.  Thanks for sharing it with us.  Jan, Ron, Cheri, Loren, Becky, Jake, Mary Ann and Granpa.

What we did - alot of good food and family time, camp fires, boat rides, small walks in the woods, alot of swimming and loved watching and hearing the loons, hoot owl battles at 3AM.

    Favorite Moments:

How beautiful to be awken by the 11 month old child at 4:30 AM and the calls of the loons. Aunt Fanny

Taking Alex for her first naked swim in the pond.  Aunt Peg

Gregg and Peggy, this is a great place and we enjoyed it very much, one of the best places we ever stayed.  The cabin and pond are great and what a place to spend with family.  Thanks so much, Peg Saul

Gregg and Peggy, thanks for the great Adirondack experience, beautiful cabin, pond and best of all, "solitude".  Next time we will try harder to fish not swim.  Thanks again, Michael and Stephanie Saul

Gregg and Peggy, What an amazing gift to be able to share with people.  I don't think I have ever seen such darkness, heard such silence, and enjoyed being cut off from the world so much.  Thank you for reminding my why I chose nature for a career!  Amanda Saul
